Why do you do what you do?

There’s a question I’ve gotten asked many times by different people, “Why do you do what you do?” and, to me, the answer is very simple. I enjoy being good at everything. I know it may sound a bit egotistic to say, but it’s more of a personal, healthy ego. I enjoy being good at things for me, for my own growth, and my own experience. It’s because of the personal joy I get out of it that I tend to work jobs that entrusts me with a variety of responsibilities and the ability to demonstrate my growing list of skills.

For the past few years, I’ve worked closely with business owners, executives, and staff members, provided excellent customer service in the service industry, collaborated in marketing campaigns, and managed vendor/client relations. Over the course of my career, I’ve developed a growing list of skills from many different projects I was assigned from past employers, like developing business policies & procedures, implementing project management software customized to their needs, overseeing multiple departments, and managing Airbnb rental homes. A list that seems random, but perfect for my natural fast- learning, detail- oriented skills. I definitely feel like one of those people who can easily learn by all three forms of learning: read, watch, and do.

Although my professional profile highlights my work in business administration, over the years, I’ve also worked different seasonal part- time jobs that gave my corporate work perspective a more intimate one. For example, I worked a couple of summers in the restaurant service industry as a waitress/bartender; managed a Halloween retail store from stocking up on inventory, hiring and training employees, cashier close outs, to season’s end; And I was a temporary receptionist for a private country club, and hosted their events during their busy wedding and holiday season- all of which leveled my patience and attitude.

It’s clearly my passion to demonstrate my different abilities and how I can contribute to successful businesses while also growing personally & professionally myself. I’m excited to offer my experience and skills to an appreciative company or individual who understands what they need and the work that goes into getting the results they expect.

They say “If you’re good at something, don’t do it for free.” and my good-at-something is being a Queen of all Trades. Let me know how we can work together on that hefty to – do list and handle it in half the time.
